This Privacy Policy describes how yoDrop Private Limited ("yoDrop," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares personal information of users of the yoDrop mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the "Services") in South Africa. 1.1 Information You Provide Directly

  • Create an Account: When you register for a Customer or Driver account, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and password. Drivers may also be required to provide vehicle information, driver's license details, and proof of insurance.
  • Profile Information: You may choose to provide additional information for your profile, such as a profile picture.
  • Request a Drop (Customers): When you request a delivery, we collect pick-up and delivery addresses, item descriptions, and any special instructions.
  • Provide Delivery Services (Drivers): When you provide delivery services, we collect your location data during Drops, and information related to completed Drops.
  • Communicate with Us: When you contact us for support or inquiries, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and the content of your communication.
  • Payment Information: When you make or receive payments through the Services, we collect payment information, which may include bank account details or mobile money information. Payment processing is handled by secure third-party payment processors, and we do not directly store your full payment card details.
1.2 Information We Collect Automatically

When you use our Services, we automatically collect certain information, including:

  • Location Information: We collect your device's location when the App is running in the foreground or background. This is essential for connecting Customers with nearby Drivers, providing real-time tracking of Drops, and improving our Services. You can control location data collection through your device settings.
  • Device Information: We collect information about your mobile device, including the hardware model, operating system and version, unique device identifiers, mobile network information, and device motion information.
  • Log Information: We collect server logs, which may include information like device IP address, access dates and times, App features or pages viewed, system activity, browser type, and the referring third-party site.
  • Usage Information: We collect information about how you use our Services, such as the features you use, the Drops you request or complete, and other interactions with the App.
  • Cookies and Similar Technologies: We may use cookies, pixel tags, and other similar technologies to collect information about your Browse behavior on our website and App. Please refer to our Cookie Policy for more details.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for various purposes, including to:

  • Provide and Improve Services: To operate and improve our Services, personalize content, facilitate Drops between Customers and Drivers, provide customer support, and develop new features.
  • Matching Customers and Drivers: To connect Customers with available Drivers based on location and Drop requirements.
  • Real-time Tracking: To enable real-time tracking of Drops for Customers and for operational purposes.
  • Payments and Transactions: To process payments for Drops, pay Drivers, and manage financial transactions related to the Services.
  • Communication: To communicate with you about your account, Drops, updates to our Services, and for marketing purposes (where permitted by applicable law and with your consent where required).
  • Safety and Security: To ensure the safety and security of our Users and Services, including verifying user identities, investigating fraud and abuse, and enforcing our Terms of Use.
  • Legal Compliance: To comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes, and government requests in South Africa.
  • Analytics and Research: To analyze usage trends and preferences, conduct research and development activities, and improve our Services and user experience.

3. Sharing of Your Information

We may share your information in the following circumstances:

  • With Drivers: We share Customers' pick-up and delivery locations, contact information (within the App), and item descriptions with Drivers to facilitate Drops.
  • With Customers: We share Drivers' names, profile pictures, vehicle information, location data, and contact information (within the App) with Customers to facilitate Drops and ensure safety and transparency.
  • With Service Providers: We may share information with third-party service providers who assist us in providing the Services, such as payment processors, cloud hosting providers, analytics providers, and customer support services. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your information and only use it for the purposes we specify.
  • For Legal Reasons: We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., court orders, subpoenas).
  • To Protect Rights and Safety: We may disclose information if we believe it is necessary to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the safety of any person, violations of our Terms of Use or this Privacy Policy, or as evidence in litigation in which we are involved.
  • Business Transfers: In connection with any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business by another company, or in the unlikely event that we go out of business or enter bankruptcy, user information may be transferred to or acquired by a third party.
